The Nash Medal in Statistics in the 2023-2024 academic year is awarded to Yihang He, who graduates with a BSc in Combined Major in Computer Science and Statistics. Yihang's grades in upper level Statistics and Math courses are all above 90%. His grades in Computer Science courses are mostly above 90% and he completed four Faculty of Science Co-op terms. Yihang plans to work as a software engineer to explore different fields of interest, and later pursue graduate studies.
The Nash Medal in Statistics is given each year to the most outstanding graduating student in the B.Sc. program in Statistics. The medal recognizes the great service to Statistics given by Professor Stanley Nash (1915-2001) over his more than 40 years at UBC.
