Information on applying to a Statistics major/minor can be found on the FAQ page.
Students majoring in another area can minor in Statistics by completing 18 upper level STAT credits (MATH 302 can replace STAT 302). Information on minors can be found in the calendar.
Check here for the requirements for the other above programs.
In addition, students can complete a degree in Statistics with a minor in another area, such as Economics or Commerce, with the approval of the Dean's Office in the Faculty of Science.
Program Requirements
There are three levels of requirements that must be satisfied. The first level of requirements applies to all students at UBC. The second level of requirements, which automatically satisfies the first level, applies to all students in the Faculty of Science.
Minor in Data Science
STAT credits (MATH 302 and ELEC 321 can be counted as STAT)
The third level of requirements is at the Department level, and is also described in the UBC Calendar. Click here for a list of courses that have sufficient overlap that credit may be obtained for only one.
